The festive season has a lot of drinking built into it: office parties, mulled wine at the market, fizz on Christmas morning, a little something after dinner. If you're sober, sober-curious, or just cutting back this year, none of that means you have to sit there with a glass of tap water.
The alcohol-free options have improved a lot. You can now get creamy liqueur swaps, warm spiced wine and dessert stouts without the hangover. These are my picks for a cosy, alcohol-free Christmas in 2026.
First things first: count down with an advent calendar (10% off)

1. Twisst Caramel Cream (0% ABV): the Baileys swap
For a lot of people, a creamy glass of Baileys is Christmas. Twisst Caramel Cream is the alcohol-free answer. It smells of sweet caramel and soft vanilla, then tastes of creamy caramel, smooth vanilla and a little coffee, with a rich, velvety finish.
How to enjoy it: straight from the can, poured over ice, or with dessert as an after-dinner treat. It's also lovely stirred into a hot chocolate.
Good to know: it's 0.0% and gluten-free. It's made with milk and cream, though, so it isn't suitable for vegans.

2. Amundsen Santa's Cinnamon S'mores Stout (0.5% ABV): dessert in a can
Amundsen, the Oslo brewery, is famous for its over-the-top dessert stouts, and this festive alcohol-free version is a proper treat. Expect dark chocolate, caramel and biscuity malt, then soft vanilla and gentle cinnamon spice. It finishes smooth, sweet and a little smoky, like s'mores round a winter campfire.
How to enjoy it: pour it into a glass, slightly chilled rather than ice-cold, so the flavours come through. Serve it on its own as a pudding, or alongside a mince pie.
Good to know: this one is 0.5% ABV and vegan-friendly. It comes in a 440ml can.

3. Eisberg Alcohol-Free Mulled Wine (0.0% ABV): Christmas in a mug
Nothing says the festive season like the smell of mulled wine warming on the hob. Eisberg's version starts as real red wine. The alcohol is then gently removed by vacuum distillation, and classic mulling spices go in: cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, plus plenty of dried fruit.
How to enjoy it: warm it gently in a pan without boiling it. Serve with a twist of orange peel, or dress it up with orange slices, a cinnamon stick and a drizzle of honey. It's perfect for Christmas markets at home, carol evenings or a big batch for guests.
Good to know: it's 0.0%, vegan, and only around 70 calories per 125ml glass.

4. JP Chenet 'Ice Edition' Sparkling (0.5% ABV): for the big moments
Every celebration needs bubbles, from Christmas morning to the countdown at midnight on New Year's Eve. JP Chenet's alcohol-free Ice Edition pours pale gold with fine, lively bubbles. On the nose there's white peach, citrus blossom and a hint of tropical fruit. It's light and fruity to drink, with a touch of sweetness and a crisp finish.
How to enjoy it: as the name says, serve it over ice and garnish with fresh fruit or a sprig of mint. Pomegranate seeds or frozen cranberries make it look very festive.
Good to know: it's 0.5% ABV, vegan-friendly and gluten-free, in JP Chenet's well-known tilted bottle.

5. The Bitter Club Cinnamon Orange Bitters & Skinny Tonic: the grown-up G&T swap
Not everyone wants something sweet at Christmas. If you're used to a G&T or a dark spirit with a mixer, this one is for you. It's made with The Bitter Club's award-winning Cinnamon & Orange bitters. Rich cinnamon comes first, then a pronounced orange finish, all lifted by a skinny tonic. It's warm, spiced and properly bitter, with a crisp, dry finish, and it isn't a sugar bomb.
How to enjoy it: pour it into a tall glass over plenty of ice, add a slice of orange and drop in a cinnamon stick. It's a great one to have in your hand at a party when everyone else is on the G&Ts.
Good to know: it comes in a 250ml can.

A quick note on 0.0% vs 0.5%
In the UK, drinks up to 0.5% ABV can be labelled "alcohol-free". That's about the same as you'd find in some fruit juices or a ripe banana. Most people are happy with that, but if you prefer to stick strictly to 0.0%, go for the Twisst Caramel Cream and the Eisberg Mulled Wine.
Cheers to a clear-headed Christmas
Whether you're curled up with a warm mug of mulled wine, ending dinner with a creamy caramel nightcap or raising a glass of fizz at midnight, there's no need to miss out this year. Enjoy every moment, and remember every one of them.
